Walk down the platform and open the door to what was once home to the historic CD&M Interurban Station, to Bucci’s Italian Scratch Kitchen, where you’ll be greeted like family the moment you walk in.

Our building was originally built in 1928 to serve as the local depot for the Columbus, Delaware and Marion Railway Company, which operated an interurban passenger and freight electric train service from 1903 to 1933. The company also provided local streetcar trolly service in Marion and Delaware. The CD&M railway way built on the idea of connecting the manufacturing capital of Marion with agricultural Delaware County, as well as the state capital of Ohio, which paid dividends for the development of downtown Marion’s commercial core & industrial recruitment. However, once a bustling depot for both freight and passengers, with the invention and expansion of the automobile, passenger trains and trolleys lost popularity and the station closed less than 10 years after starting operations.

The building later served as utility company offices, a haunted house, and sat vacant for many years before being converted to a restaurant in the late 1990s.

After shutting down for COVID in early 2020, the building sat vacant once again for a couple years before being purchased for the creation of a new Italian restaurant concept and a new wedding venue. While the original bones of the building and all historic elements were left in tact, the building was extensively renovated with new electric and mechanicals, kitchen upgrades, installation of 3 upscale bars, and significant repairs and love for the nearly 100 year old landmark in downtown Marion.

Co-located with Bucci’s is Urban501, a wedding and event venue named after the 501 Parlor Car, “the handsomest parlor car running”, that was operated on the CD&M Railway. The 501 was a luxury car boasting elevated finishes for special passengers created a memorable experience, and was the inspiration for the elevated finishes and themed decor featured at Urban501.
